How to rotate PDF pages
Three steps — free, browser-based, and nothing to install.
Upload your PDF
Drag a PDF onto the drop zone, click to browse, or paste from the clipboard with Ctrl+V (⌘V on Mac). Files up to 200 MB are supported.
Choose rotation and pages
Pick a rotation angle — 90° clockwise, 180°, or 90° counter-clockwise. Then decide whether to rotate all pages or only specific ones (e.g. 1-3, 5, 8).
Download the rotated PDF
Hit Rotate. The rotated PDF is built in your browser and downloads immediately. Your original file stays untouched.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I rotate a PDF for free?
- Drop your PDF onto the rotator above, choose the rotation angle and which pages to rotate, then click the button. The result downloads immediately. No account, no watermark, unlimited uses.
- Is there a file size limit?
- Each PDF can be up to 200 MB. Since rotation runs entirely in your browser, there is no server-imposed upload cap — your device's memory is the only real constraint.
- Can I rotate just one page in a multi-page PDF?
- Yes. Switch to "Specific pages" and enter the page number you want to rotate. You can list individual pages (3, 7) or ranges (1-5), or any combination.
- Does rotating reduce PDF quality?
- No. The rotation is applied as metadata on the page object — no content is re-rendered or re-compressed. Text stays selectable, vector graphics stay sharp, and images keep their original resolution.
- What rotation angles are available?
- You can rotate 90° clockwise, 180° (upside down), or 90° counter-clockwise (270° clockwise). These cover every standard orientation fix — landscape-to-portrait, upside-down scans, and sideways pages.
- Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
- The tool tries to open encrypted files, but heavily restricted PDFs may fail. If that happens, open the file in a PDF reader, save a copy without the password, and rotate that copy instead.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. The entire rotation runs inside your browser using JavaScript. Your file never leaves your device — nothing is uploaded, stored, or logged.
- Can I rotate and then split or merge?
- Yes — rotate the pages first, download the result, then use the split or merge tool on the rotated PDF. Each tool works on standard PDF files, so you can chain them in any order.
About this tool
Rotating a PDF means changing the orientation of one or more pages. Unlike re-exporting or taking screenshots, this tool modifies the page rotation property directly — no pixels are touched, so the output is byte-for-byte identical in quality to the original.
This tool uses pdf-lib to update the rotation attribute of each selected page entirely in your browser. The modified PDF downloads as a new file; your original is never changed. No server sees your data at any point.
Common use cases: fixing a scanned document that came in sideways, switching a single landscape page to portrait in a mixed-orientation report, or flipping an upside-down page before sharing. Need to remove or rearrange pages? Use the PDF splitter. To combine rotated pages with another document, try the PDF merger. Or convert pages to images with the PDF to PNG converter.
Where your documents go
Nowhere. The rotation runs entirely inside this browser tab — no file data is sent to a server, logged, or stored. Close the tab and everything is gone.
